The intimacy of portrait photography

 

For me, portraying a person is much more than just making them look good or professional. It is capturing their essence, communicating through the image their identity, charisma, talents and capabilities. It is to make a gesture, a look and a movement express their totality.

What I love most about this work is that in order to portray someone you first have to see them, feel them and appreciate them in the way they are. It is the intimacy that is achieved in those small moments where the person trusts you, feels comfortable and thus forgets who he/she should be to show him/herself as he/she is.
